ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

*Not affiliated with Microsoft Excel

The most important thing to know about this website is that it is not affiliated in any way, shape, or form with Microsoft Excel. If Excel had a child it didn’t know about, whose mother it had no recollection of meeting, and whose life it had no interest in supporting or participating in, that child would be this website.

The second most important thing to know is that this is a website for financial DIY-ers. In other words, people who are time-rich and money-poor. In other words, people who prefer to spend their free time seeking the maximum interest rate on their deposit accounts rather than getting a second job. Its goal is to help such individuals achieve financial freedom stability, mainly through tinkering in Excel.

If that resonates with you, you should immediately download the website’s flagship product — the Excel At Money Spending Tracker — to help you regain control of your finances and discover how much you’re spending each month on bubble tea.

ABOUT ME

Five years ago, I hit rock bottom. My business selling bone density scanners wasn’t panning out, and the bills were mounting. The tremendous financial strain culminated in my wife leaving me and my young son. Unable to pay rent, we became homeless on the streets of San Francisco. We spent weeks sleeping in subway stations and public restrooms, while I struggled to find some way out of our dire situation.

One day, I had the good fortune of sitting next to a stock broker on a cab ride. Impressed by my tenacity (as well as my skill with a Rubiks cube — don’t ask), he ultimately offered me an internship at a prestigious brokerage firm. My future was looking bright.

It was at that internship where I started learning and becoming proficient at Excel. I realized that all I needed to do to master my finances — from monitoring my spending to paying off debts — could be readily achieved with the software program sitting on everyone’s desktop. That’s when I came up with Excel At Money. I left my internship to focus on growing the company full time. And while my son and I still primarily sleep outdoors, we do so with a newfound understanding and appreciation of our overall financial picture. Come join us on our financial journey, and together, we can harness the power of Excel!
